Chinese 3 cree XM-L T6 lights review (a year on)

Standard

Thought I’d share my lighting experience seeing as the big companies are emailing me daily with offers on lights and they just seem like a massive money making opportunity ?

I purchased some 3 CREE XM-L T6 LIGHTS THEY COST a mere $35.99 or £22.50 English 🙂 bargain. They have been OK the battery only lasts 1.5hrs these days it only came with a lightweight 6400 mAh 8.4V JOB, and the upgrade on eBaY IS ONLY £12.99 with free post for 9600mAh and they talk about 3/4hrs usage !!! (needed that last night)

So based on value for money and a winters use and there still going strong and with a spare battery pack on its way. My verdict is save your hard earned cash and buy Chinese. (aliexpress is an option)

They perform well on the dark country roads and offer good quality high beem with all 3 cree’s blasting away (note the battery soon gets killed with 3 on)

I normally run 1 cree for most of the ride especially uphill and 3 downhill just to save juice !!

Fixings are a pain with Zipp Vuka handlebar shape but removing the garmin out front makes just enough room, the larger of the 2 bands is used with no issues.

happy camper 🙂

my next mission is carbon seat “do I go that route” since the addidtion of quality shorts my ase as been good 🙂 ????????????????

the none DI2 version comes in at £1999 with lower spec pedals and just mechanical ultegra groupset, not bad for a pretty decent spec’d bike. I’m not sure I could buy one with decent wheels, tyres, seat and groupset for that money. plus I’d have a spare ultegra crank to sell.

update 12th nov – starbike have the new 2014 ultegra 6870 in stock for £1109 free delivery a good start price with internal seatpost battery.
